My name is Kristi Bean and this is my second degree that I have earned at UMF. The first degree I earned was a BA in Business Economics. I worked for two years in the field, but knew I missed my calling. Thus, I came back to UMF to earn a degree in Secondary Education Mathematics. I hope you enjoy my portfolio and the amazing memories captured within it.

The Standards
My Placement & Experience
I was fortunate enough to be placed at Mt. Blue High School with Kathryn Woodsum, teaching 9th - 12th grade mathematics. I was able to teach three sections of Geometry, two sections of Algebra II, and one section of Algebra I. I spent 16 weeks with 82 amazing students who have reinforced my passion and love for the field of teaching. My placement was unique, as we operated as a flipped math classroom. I placed a high priority on teaching students independence and self-advocacy skils. I would like to thank Kathryn Woodsum, the entire Mt. Blue Staff, and my wonderful students for the experience I have had.
